Fiberglass

Fiberglass, introduced to the U.S. in 1985, combines all the positive attributes of every other window material without the negatives. It has the strength of steel and aluminum without the transfer of heat and cold, the maintenance free aspects of vinyl without the air leakage or seal failure attributed to constant expansion and contraction, and the traditional appearance of wood without the fear of rot or required painting & maintenance.

The glass and frame of a fiberglass window are made from sand, an eco-friendly, renewable resource which usually incorporates some recycled glass material.  What this means is that a fiberglass window not only has very minimal expansion and contraction, but that the glass and frame move together as a unit rather than at ratios that can be widely different such as vinyl & glass.

For those with chemical sensitivities, fiberglass does not give off gas like vinyl or wood composite products so it is a good choice for indoor air quality.

You won’t find many Kentucky window companies promoting or selling fiberglass windows. Why? Because they typically cost more and require expert installation, which some of our competitors simply do not have.

But if you take a look at the long-term performance of fiberglass windows, it’s no wonder that the vast majority of Weber Windows customers — who appreciate quality and durability — purchase our fiberglass products.
